Having been raised in a farm in rural MAine, I was practically born riding horses. We always had a steady supply of horses, whether grade or registered. (I was always the one to get the “difficult” horses.)

I grew up training and showing my own horses at local shows. I competed in everything from Western and Trail Class to English and Gated Horse classes. During high school bought and broke my own Morgan to drive. I also went on to work at both Kennebec Morgan Horse FArm and Knight Equestrian Books during this time.

I helped form our local horse club, Dirigo Horse and Pony Club and was a junior group leader. From there I decided to pursue a career as a Thoroughbred Racehorse Jockey. I spent four years grooming, breaking babies, working sales, and galloping at racetracks up and down the east coast. I was privileged to work with a number of Hall of Fame trainers at such tracks as Belmont Park, Saratoga, Keeneland, and Gulfstream Park, to name a few.

After numerous severe injuries I decided to stop galloping and went to work for a race track veterinarian. Since then I met my husband. We have a daughter and now I spend my days riding and showing dressage locally.
